The earliest civilizations began forming structures and belief systems to create a sense of order and a way to understand time and space. When we no longer see beyond the construction, perception of reality is restricted and freedom lost.
Baskets are used to hold and to carry. The things of greatest value may not have tangible form but we carry them with us and pass them on.

I became interested in diamonds as depicted in popular culture and the way they are used as status symbols. At times seeing diamonds so large and out of place that they appear garish, crude even. The over saturation of diamonds has made them commonplace yet they remain highly desirable. As a reaction to this I wanted to create diamond forms from unexpected materials. The diamonds in these pieces have been painstakingly constructed from silver sheet that has been scored, folded and soldered by hand forming faceted hollow structures that are joined together creating the ‘Diamond’ clusters.
