'This show is called Flotsam because it is based on a series of ideas I have had recently. The Morph series comes from the idea of ‘what if’ one shape became another; how would that look and what are the shapes that would come from it. I have really enjoyed using Perspex which has a lovely translucent quality. I re-read a lovely book of underwater photography by Norbert Wu a few months ago and when I look at the Enamel and Silk series I think that it might have influenced me! I enjoy making chains and started with the idea of wire and tube; these are the results. I thought the black finish was a nice departure from my usual matt white finish.'
